MD Contact Adhesive is a powerful, universal adhesive that stands out thanks to its impressive properties. With a temperature resistance of up to +80°C, it is ideal for a wide range of applications in different materials.
This contact adhesive is not only resistant to ageing and ozone, but also UV and IR stable. Its resistance to a wide range of chemical media makes it a reliable choice for demanding bonding applications. In addition, the adhesive is elastic and waterproof, making it particularly suitable for flexible materials.
MD contact adhesive is ideal for bonding wood, plastic, veneer and plastic edges, metal, rubber, leather, felt, soft foams, paper, cardboard and many other materials. Its strong immediate adhesion and liquid, easy-to-apply consistency enable quick and easy application, especially on smooth surfaces.
The elastic adhesive bond ensures high final strength and compensates for material stresses. However, it is important to note that the adhesive is not suitable for Styrofoam®, soft PVC, PE and PP. After complete curing, the bond achieves a temperature resistance of up to 80°C.
MD contact adhesive is ready to use and should not be diluted or mixed. It should be applied in dry weather conditions at a temperature of at least 5°C. The surfaces to be joined must be clean and dry before application. The adhesive is applied to both sides, for example with a brush or spatula. After approx. 10 minutes of flash-off time, the adhesive should be sticky when pressed lightly with a finger and should not form threads.
For an optimal bond, it is crucial to join the parts under high pressure, for example with a roller or rubber mallet. It is not the duration but the amount of pressure that plays a decisive role. Approximately 12 hours after bonding, the bond is load-bearing, and maximum adhesive strength and heat resistance are achieved in about a week.
